The Baby

“The Baby” was found on a ghetto street in Greensboro, North Carolina.  She ended up back in my hotel room a few days later and after a long story and a long drive, she now lives happily in Ohio and causes me constant torment and constant photographic inspiration.  Her formal name is Meesha, and you will find other images of her in my work and on this website.  This was the first photograph I preserved of her.  Our guess is that she is less than two months old in this image.  It’s the first cat I can say I’ve owned and fell for.  The mustache is real.  I think her head belongs on a bigger body.  Go look at her other images and you might find her a bit captivating.
